    About Mark West

Let me introduce myself. I am Mark West, an online SEO consultant, online business owner and brick & mortar businessman. I am a hands on type of worker even after my business flourished. This extends to my writing, online publisher and merchant business in my local community where I employ not only many workers but also my children.

Being a civil minded American that believes in giving back to the community that has been my home for decades and given my family a peaceful place to live. As part of this charitable work I have worked as the active past president and founder of a cancer foundation.

In my travels as a youth I found the love of my life in the Philippines. My wife is the guardian of my heart. Her homeland is almost as beautiful as she is and is the place we will spend the twilight of our years together.

One of the 7,000 islands that make up the Philippines is Boracay. This is a tranquil island in the Western Visayas region of the country south of Manila. This small island is less than 6.5 square miles in area within a population of 12,000. The beaches are white sand that is from the coral reefs that surround this peaceful island and is some of the best dive spots in the world to explore. By some travel experts, the white beaches on the island are considered in the top ten in the world and the reason for a budding tourism industry on the island.

The only access to this peaceful place is by boat. The closest airstrip is on the neighboring island of Panay and there are regular ferries to the island resort.

Except for the hotels, the island is unincorporated to the point there is not even a gasoline station. Fuel is dispensed at a roadside shop on the one main road straight from 55 gallon drums. There is no Wal-Mart or other type of department store on the island. What there are includes souvenir shops for the tourists and numerous cafes you can enjoy a cool drink while wiggling your toes in the sand on the beach.

The peacefulness and warmth of the people that live on the island of Boracay is a place we long for. When we have had enough of the rat race, it is the place we will be.
